A new event called the Sustainability Reporting World Cup has started. The contest will compare sustainability reports from 32 large companies around the world.
The event is inspired by the 2026 World Cup. Instead of football teams, company reports will compete against each other. The goal is to find which company has the best sustainability report.
Companies such as Adidas, BMW, Nike, Toyota, Starbucks and Walmart are taking part. Each report will be checked using 10 important areas. These include climate action, worker care, supply chains, goals and company leadership.
A special AI tool will score each report. The AI score will count for 80 percent of the final result. Another 20 percent will come from public views about each company’s sustainability work.
The contest will begin on June 15. Companies will face each other in knockout rounds. Winners will move on until only one company is left.
Organizers say the event is a fun way to show why good sustainability reporting matters. They believe companies should share clear facts and real results not just promises.
The final match will take place on July 15. The winning company will be named the first Sustainability Reporting World Cup champion.
The event also shows how AI can help review large reports. At the same time, it highlights the growing need for honest and easy to understand sustainability information.
