There has been another step taken into the future of transportation as Baidu and PostBus have both been granted approval to establish a robotaxi service in eastern Switzerland. This is an important step for the two companies and for autonomous mobility throughout Europe as a whole.

There have been many trials of self driving cars throughout the past few years with a lot of limited pilot programs in highly controlled environments. The technology itself has come very far but has always been constrained by regulatory approval. It would appear the system has advanced far enough in the eyes of regulators to operate safely and effectively.

Combined they are able to deploy an autonomous driving service that works in conjunction with the existing transportation system.

This approval is critical because it is part of the larger plan to introduce the service on a scale that has never been seen before and shows that European regulators have confidence in autonomous vehicles.
