Hybar Grows with New Sustainability Steel Mill in Arkansas

Hybar has raised $1.1 billion to build a second steel rebar mill in northeast Arkansas. The new mill will be built next to the company's first mill. Which opened only nine months ago.

The first mill has done very well. It reached strong product quality and started making money after only four months. Because of this early success Hybar decided to build another mill.

The new project will help the company make about 1.3 million tons of steel rebar each year. This will give Hybar close to 13% of the US rebar market. The company said the new mill will take about two years to build.

Hybar makes steel by using recycled scrap metal. This helps cut waste and supports Sustainability. The company also uses clean power to lower air pollution. Its power comes from a nearby solar and battery system along with electricity from Entergy Arkansas.

After final tests are finished later this summer. Hybar expects to become the only steel maker in North America that can produce steel with 100% renewable energy. When the sun is shining. This is a big step for clean steel production.

Hybar's steel is used in many important projects across the United States. These include data centers, hospitals, energy projects, roads, bridges and tunnels. The new mill will help meet the growing need for steel in these areas.
