PepsiCo has shared new updates about its Sustainability work. The company said it is making good progress with farming, food and support for farmers.
PepsiCo said it now uses better farming methods on 4.7 million acres of land around the world. The company wants to reach 10 million acres by the year 2030.
The company also said it now gets 70% of its key food items from sources that follow its sustainability rules. Another small part is moving toward these better farming ways.
PepsiCo said it worked with farmers and other groups to help improve farming. It gave training, tools and support so farmers can grow food in ways that are better for the land.
The company also backed more than 15 farming projects. These projects helped over 1,100 farmers learn new skills and test new ideas.
Since 2021, PepsiCo said it has helped about 224,000 people through its farmer and community programs. The company hopes to help more than 250,000 people by 2030.
Jim Andrew, the company's Chief Sustainability Officer, said strong teamwork and new ideas are helping both people and the planet. He said there is still more work to do, but the company is moving in the right direction.
PepsiCo plans to keep working with farmers and partners. It also plans to invest in new tools and better farming methods to protect soil, water and nature for the future.
