Anasac makes sustainability a key part of its future

Anasac is making sustainability an important part of its business. The company is working on projects that support farmers, reduce waste and protect natural resources.

Anasac is based in Santiago. Its office sits between the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The company says its surroundings are one source of inspiration for its work on sustainability.

Bernardita Contesse Bamon is Anasac Chile's Chief of Sustainability. She says sustainability can help the company create new ideas, give more value to customers and support long term growth.

Anasac has created several programs to reach these goals.

One program is called Activa tu carBONO. Anasac worked with US company ARVA on the program. Farmers can receive money when they use more sustainable farming methods.

The company is also working to reduce plastic waste. Through Agrorecicla, Anasac promotes the collection and recycling of farm plastics.

Education is another part of the plan. Anasac has created sustainability training through Universidad Anasac. It also holds a yearly event to share ideas about sustainability.

The company also supports small scale Mapuche farmers. Its Socio Productive Incubator helps farmers build their skills and develop stronger farming businesses.

Anasac also checks its use of natural resources. Its teams track carbon, water and energy use. They also track waste and the recovery of materials from its plants.

These numbers help the company see where it can improve. They also help make sustainability part of its daily work.

Anasac says its goal is to connect environmental care with support for farmers and local communities. Through these efforts, the company hopes to build a more sustainable future.
