Experian is teaming up with Google to give people a new way to check and understand their credit information. The deal makes Experian the first personal finance app to join Google Gemini’s Connected Apps system.
The new feature is for consumers in the United States. People can connect their Experian account to Gemini with their permission. New users can also join Experian at no cost.
Once connected, users can ask Gemini questions about their Experian credit information. They can ask about their FICO® credit rating and the main things that may affect it.
For example, a user can type @Experian, what’s my credit rating? in Gemini. The user can then connect and approve access to their Experian account.
Experian says users stay in control of their information. They choose whether to connect their account. They can also manage their connected apps through Google’s settings.
The new service gives people another way to learn about their credit. Instead of only looking at credit details on a website or app, users can ask questions and get answers in a chat.
Experian’s website and app will still offer more financial tools. The company says people who want to view their FICO Score 8 can continue to use Experian’s website or app.
Google and Experian also plan to add more features in the future. One possible feature could help people cancel unwanted subscriptions.
The partnership shows how AI tools are becoming part of everyday financial tasks. For Experian, Gemini offers a new way to reach people and help them understand their credit.
